The Effect of Geometric Road Conditions on Safety Performance of Abu Dhabi Road Intersections

Abu Dhabi’s government has taken several initiatives to improve the safety of city’s highways, such as reducing traffic accident occurrence, red light violations, and property damage associated with accidents. However, intersections are still many severe accidents, violations. To help authorities pinpoint major contributors deterioration performance signalized junctions, this study employed a negative binomial regression model investigate effect geometric road conditions (in terms number lanes streets found in four-leg, three-leg, different types intersection) on damage, accidents indicators. The research that, both three-leg four-leg intersections, most violations occur when minor pass through intersection.
